Organisation

Fit for purpose

The South Holland Internal Drainage Board, situated between the Rivers Nene and Welland at the base of the Wash in South Lincolnshire, is a progressive organisation in the way that it manages Land Drainage, Water Levels and Flood Defence, whilst protecting the environment. The committed and dedicated workforce together with the local knowledge and experience of our 21 Board Members provides a professional and cost effective service to you the ratepayer, which we will continue to deliver into the future.

Management Structure

As a member of the WMA we have access to 54 employees in total and meet all of the requirements now stipulated by DEFRA. In my view, membership of the WMA has enabled the Board to improve practice whilst retaining the benefits of our structure, local knowledge and extensive experience.

Delivering an effective local service

The Board’s Engineer operates from the District Office in Holbeach and the Operations Manager supervises and coordinates the work undertaken within the Drainage District and catchment areas. The service is primarily delivered through the structure shown in the Board’s Organisation Chart, which also reflects how we interface with the WMA administration. Contact details for the District Engineer and Operations Manager are shown on our Contact us webpage.
